    • My favorite suv

I have had sports cars in the past and this SUV handles like one. The E Pace is nimble and quick.I tested the larger F Pace and it was clunky and much less responsive.

Much of my review of my 2019 Jaguar E Pace P 300 R-Dynamic SE will be subjective and my opinion, but that is what most reviews are. I drove a lot of compact/subcompact SUVs before deciding on the E Pace. I have owned many vehicles in the past from domestic to imports and base to luxury. I like a vehicle that rides and handles well, is quiet, has good build quality and feels solid. I was looking for a smaller SUV but one that was well equipped – vented/heated seats, HUD, upgraded seats, good audio system, etc. I test drove Audi Q3 and Q5, Acura RDX, MB GLC, Buick Envision, Volvo XC 40, Volvo XC 60, Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy, Cadillac XT4, and the Lexus NX 300 F Sport, and of course the Jaguar E Pace – the lesser horse power P250 as well as the P300. After driving the E Pace, I really liked it. I went back to the local dealership to drive different E Pace models 4 times. This car is a blast to drive. I did not find the HP difference between the P250 and P300 to be that significant, but it is notable. I decided the E Pace was the best option for me but not the ones available at the local dealership. I was looking to buy used and again, had specific ‘wants’ in an E Pace. I found the 2019 that I bought that was a Spec build for the original owner, beautiful white exterior with the black exterior trim package, mars red leather interior with 18 way vented/heated seats, HUD, upgraded sound system, and 20” wheels. I say all of this because there is a huge difference between a base or stripped-down E Pace and one that has nice options – but that is no different than most cars. Prior to making my decision to buy the E Pace, I had read several on line reviews (including ‘expert’ reviews) and watched many YouTube videos regarding the E Pace. Many of reviews when comparing the E Pace to the competition (and I drove most of the competition) were indifferent at best and negative at worst towards the E Pace. It seems that most of the issues, however slight with the E Pace were in the first year of production – 2018. In no way did I feel these negative connotations towards the E Pace. So bottom line, the following is my impression after driving my E Pace for the past week for approximately 700 miles. 1. The vehicle is beautiful and elegant - exterior and interior 2. The build quality is solid 3. Excellent paint 4. I refer to the interior as simple posh – fit and finish is very good, nice materials with very good leather seats 5. The car is quick and handles well and wants to keep going faster 6. The ride is ‘sporty’ – it’s not soft but not rigid 7. The car is relatively quiet with little wind and road noise (I’m very picky about this) 8. The upgraded Meridian sound system is very good 9. The tech – acceptable and ok for me but if you demand the absolute best and quickest tech and that’s a deal killer, this may not be the car for you 10. The front is fairly spacious, not so much in the back seats- adequate for adults for short trips 11. There is only a fixed pano-roof option – if that’s a deal killer, move on Do your research, drive lots of options many times, and make sure you are under factory or extended warranty!

After owning primarily Lexuses growing up and as an adult, after a long time with that, wanting a small suv - and something different - it came down to the XC40, Evoque or this. Well, my dad who loves cars - I do not like driving but ive been back in Dallas for 7 years and in Dallas you must drive something great. The car is beautiful on the outside and I see people at times give it intriguing looks bc you dont see too many of these out there. I got the gray with black leather interior - P250S model - with 1.5k miles CPO - right at height of Covid and got a terrific deal and the fact I have 98.5k, 5 full years (6 from the buy date the prior year) of bumper to bumper including new warranty - 4 years of maintenance/service...I wont disclose what I paid, but I came, saw, crunched numbers and drove home in two hours...two hours from ever being in one. The black interior...I thought it would be too much, but theres a cohesion and serenity to it when you step in. Bc of the textures and shrewd use of other materials it all blends for a very peaceful feeling. The others can be so busy. I feel calm in my baby every time I step in and shut door. I see SO MUCH about the plastic -- yeah yeah, honestly its fine. it doesnt bother me. Infotainment is fine too...id say less than 1% minor glitch but easily fixed. Sound: what a freaking sound system. its REALLY amazing...i have the meridian premium. and the car is surprisingly quiet and serene. Now, one big huge difference with Lexus -- yes, if the road is bad or bumpy you def feel it more as this is sportier or a pothole -- but i came from lexus and now its kinda just whatever. the a/c is amazing...im huge on that. German cars are terrible. I didnt think this would be like Japanese but they got it perfect. Cold on a 100 degree day in minutes. or use the app to pre-cool it for you. the app is great to make sure u locked your car if ur in ur apt Drive: again, im not a big driver...but...this makes you want to speed. this makes you want to do bad things...and it feels so good. ugh. but i only speed on the single or double lane express lanes and one time i hit 100 and was in disbelief bc u felt like it was 75. it roars out the gate but yes, in parking garage going really slow it does do that strange jerk ive read, but its fine. you feel empowered in this vehicle, like you're in one some secret that audi, merc, and bmw owners (sheep) havent picked up on. I LOVE the car. I feel like myself: a bit different than others, classy, fun, frisky and sep from the pack. The warranty allowed me to try this bc of the massively bad rep Jag still has amongst mainstream luxe drivers and they need to work very hard to fix that. So far, so good. I live in urban dallas so mostly its quick drives and its not great on that, but highway in summer it did very well when i drove to austin and back. City: 15 mpg HWY: 30 mpg
